Palau swimmers snagged new national records at the 16th FINA World Swimming Championships in Melbourne, Australia, held from December 12 to 18th of, 2022.
The previous national record for the 4 x 50m Mixed Freestyle Relay was 1:56”17, set by Osisang Chilton, Noel Keane, Jericho Mido, and Jamica Oiterong in 2019.
This year, this was broken by Ungilreng Ruluked, Galyah Mikel, Shawn Wallace, and Travis Sakurai at 1:55”93.
Ungilreng Ruluked, Galyah Mikel, Shawn Wallace, and Travis Sakurai, with their head coach Jimmy Jonas, represented Palau at the 16th FINA World Swimming Championships.
The swimmers were elated to return home after a grueling event but excited to improve their performance for the next competition.
