Palau is set to host the 19th annual Micronesian President’s Summit on February 20-21.

The summit is an annual gathering of the presidents of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), and the Federated States of Micronesia.

The summit serves as a venue for the heads of states of the Freely Associated States (FAS) to discuss issues surrounding climate change, fisheries, and relationship with the United States under the Compact of Free Association agreement, among others.

Last year, the summit was hosted by the Marshall Islands in Majuro where the presidents of Nauru and Kirabati were invited for the first time. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
