KOROR, Palau (Feb. 23, 2026) — “My expectation is that this Cheldebechel Conference could spark greater public engagement in civic duties,” said Kambes Kesolei, the event chairman.
What happens after the hospital visit? After the police response? After the meeting ends?
The Cheldebechel Forum invites everyday Palauans — caregivers, youth, leaders, service providers, and anyone who calls this island home — to tackle those lingering questions head-on.
This open, inclusive gathering on Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. unites diverse voices through seven panel discussions on keeping people safe, supported, and connected. It bridges government, traditional leaders, and civil society to spark practical solutions for families facing challenges beyond emergencies.
“This is not a closed meeting. This is not for experts only,” organizers emphasize. “If you live in Palau, this conversation concerns you.”
Kesolei added: “One key strength of civil society organizations is that they include experts and practitioners with hands-on, real-world experience in many of the challenges we face — and they are often well-positioned to propose practical, actionable solutions.”
