KOROR, Palau — The Ministry of Health and Human Services (MHHS) Communicable Disease Unit, in collaboration with CAT and the United States Marine Corps Engineer Detachment (USMCED), is inviting the community to a unique “Movie Night & Health Screening” event on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024.
The event, scheduled from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maris Stella Auditorium, combines vital health education and free health services with family-friendly entertainment.
Health Screenings to Promote Wellness
Beginning at 5 p.m., attendees can take advantage of complimentary health screenings and learn about communicable diseases. The screenings include checks for blood pressure and blood sugar, as well as tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, Tuberculosis (TB), Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and Hansen’s Disease.
As an added incentive, individuals who complete the free health screenings will receive free airtime. Informative sessions on health topics will also be offered to promote awareness and early detection of illnesses.
A Festive Film for the Holidays
At 6 p.m., the event will shift gears to entertainment with a screening of Operation Christmas Drop, a heartwarming Netflix film. Attendees will be treated to free popcorn and refreshments while enjoying the movie in the transformed auditorium.
“This event provides a unique opportunity to learn about health in a fun and comfortable setting while taking advantage of free screenings,” said a representative of MHHS.

The event aims to raise awareness about communicable diseases in a relaxed and welcoming environment, making health services more accessible to the public.
