Minister of State Faustina Rehuher-Marugg led a delegation to visit Republic of China (Taiwan) from October 7 to 11, the time when Taiwan was celebrating its 108th National Day.

Minister Marugg and her delegation met with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen on October 8.  Minister Marugg congratulated President Tsai on Taiwan’s birthday and hand-delivered President Remengesau’s congratulatory letter.

President Tsai said the partnership between Palau and Taiwan is growing closer and closer.  In the years to come, she said, Taiwan will continue to contribute related technologies and experience to the rest of the world in areas like maritime conservation, climate change, and renewable energy, and work with Palau for a better world.

The delegation also visited Taipei 101, National Palace Museum, Shun-Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines, Yingge Ceramics Museum, and I-Mei Food Apprentices Training Center. (PR)
