Koror, Palau — Palau High School has proudly secured a full six-year accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC), reaffirming the school’s commitment to academic excellence and institutional integrity. The accreditation, effective through June 30, 2031, underscores the school’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality education to Palau’s youth.

In its official statement dated July 2, 2025, the ACS WASC Commission announced:

“The ACS WASC Commissioners have determined Palau High School (9–12) meets the ACS WASC criteria for accreditation. This accreditation status is based on all of the information provided by the school, including the school’s report, and the satisfactory completion of the accreditation visit.”

The Commission concluded:

“It is the decision of the Commission to grant six-year accreditation status through June 30, 2031.”

The accreditation team’s visit, which took place on April 24–25, 2026, was led by Chairman Paul Morrow alongside Douglas Paulson and Dante Brorardri. The comprehensive evaluation involved in-depth meetings with school leadership, faculty, staff, students, and community stakeholders to assess the school’s performance in key areas, including curriculum, governance, student support, and continuous improvement.

As Palau’s only public high school, Palau High School plays a crucial role in the nation’s future by preparing students for success. This renewed accreditation recognizes the school’s strong vision, collaborative leadership, and student-centered learning environment—factors that continue to shape quality education in Palau.

The six-year accreditation stands as a testament to the dedication of Palau High School’s administration, teachers, students, and community partners to maintaining high standards of academic achievement and institutional integrity. By: Eustoria Marie Borja
