The Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) was recognized by the Organizing Committee of Palau’s 26th Independence Day for its contributions to the Republic of Palau. On September 29, 2020, PICRC received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of its partnership and outstanding contribution to the Economic Stability, Development, and Growth of the Republic of Palau during the business luncheon for Partners and Sponsors of this year’s Independence Day celebration at Ming’s Restaurant, Palasia Hotel.
On behalf of PICRC, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Yimnang Golbuu was honored to receive the certificate signed by Minister Faustina Rehuher-Marugg of the Ministry of State and Minister Elbuchel Sadang of Ministry of Finance. “We are honored for this recognition,” stated Golbuu, “First and foremost, PICRC is the Center for the people of Palau, even though the results of our work is relevant regionally and globally. It is therefore a priority for the Center to support local development, especially for our young people who are interested in science and research. We thank the government of Palau for this honor and recognition.”
