The Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) is now accepting applications for the 2020 Blue Bay Internship Summer Program. This 6-week long program gives four Palauan college students, and one international college student, the opportunity to gain research experience and skills related to marine resource management while working with a professional researcher on a specific project related to marine conservation. Students will also have the opportunity to develop a strong network of professional contacts for future career goals, in addition to participating in a cultural immersion program.

The internship will run from June 01 to July 10, 2020. Applicants are expected to commit to a schedule of 30-hour work weeks. Each intern will be assigned a supervisor and must complete their own research project during their internship. Palauan applicants must be at least 19 years old and accepted to, or enrolled in, college have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, be a competent swimmer (unless interested in socio-economic/fish landing projects), have a strong interest in pursuing a career in marine conservation, have a mature attitude towards research, have a strong work ethic and attention to detail, and be ready to commit to 6 consecutive weeks of work.
