On January 18, 2017, Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) will celebrate its 16th Anniversary with its annual Fundraising Dinner Gala. This is PICRC’s biggest event of the year. On this special occasion, PICRC will be presenting its first, “PICRC Visionary Award”, which is given to honor a person who has demonstrated exceptional visionary leadership in moving conservation forward.

The “PICRC Visionary Award” is fitting for this occasion, given its theme, “Visionaries: Leading Conservation Forward.” PICRC was founded, because of the hard work and dedication of individuals who had a vision of a world-class research center based here in Palau, stated Dr. Yimnang Golbuu, CEO of PICRC. “It is timely that PICRC would honor the individual who is most deserving of this recognition at its upcoming 16th Anniversary Dinner Gala.”
Since 2001, when PICRC first opened its doors, it has held these annual galas in January to celebrate its anniversary. This year, the 16th Anniversary Fundraising Dinner Gala, will be held on January 18, 2017, at PICRC grounds. While tickets for this event have been sold out, the evening’s program will be broadcasted, live, by Palau Wave Radio.
