June 28, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Palau National Marine Sanctuary received from the Republic of China (Taiwan) the second tranche payment of $250,000 toward PNMS Trust Fund.

“Republic of China indeed sticks to its commitment,” stated Minister of Finance Elbuchel Sadang who received the payment on behalf of the Palau National Marine Sanctuary.

Thanking the Republic of China on behalf of President Remengesau, Minister Sadang added that Palau appreciates Taiwan’s continued commitment and investment in our children’s future.  “Like our President has stated before, ocean connects us and this goes to show our good relationship,” added Sadang.

“We are very pleased to present the 2nd tranche to PNMS Trust Fund. We are both island nations and we understand the value of marine conservation,” expressed His Excellency Ambassador Michael Tseng of the Republic of China to Palau.

Republic of China –Taiwan was the first to make commitment, pledging $1 million dollars toward the Palau National Marine Sanctuary Trust Fund.  So far they’ve released $500,000 to the PNMS investment fund. [/restrict]
