Palau National Post Office receives two brand new delivery cargo vans this week for their operations. “We are very happy and pleased that for the very first time, Palau Post Office has been able to receive brand new vehicles,” stated Post Master Timothy Sinsak.
“We have been recipient of second hand vehicles for as long as post office has been operating. The cost of maintenance is one of our biggest expense,” added Post Master Sinsak. The new delivery cargo vans will replace deteriorating mail trucks and are expected to strengthen mail delivery between Palau International Airport, seaport and the Post Office.
The funds to pay for the vehicles came from national appropriation in the last national budget. The total cost for the two vehicles including shipping was $80,000. “We are very thankful to President Remengesau and Olbiil Era Kelulau for agreeing to fund these vehicles which are very much needed for Post Office operations.” [/restrict]
