The Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC)has extended the deadline for the request for proposals (RFP) for the solar photovoltaic project in Palau after receiving several requests.

In a press statement sent to the media, the PPUC revealed that there had been 29 Independent Power Producers (IPPs)who have shown interest to bid or inquire about the project which is part of the country’s move to generate 45% renewable energy by 2025 under the Paris Climate Agreement.

Six prospective proposers were also able to attend the pre-bid conference that was held four days after the RFP was issued on February 15.

In response to the demand to extend the RFP bid, PPUC stated that it has moved the deadline for submission ofproposals which is done by complying three envelopes that each provides details about eligibility, technical aspect of the proposals, and the financial aspect.

The deadline for the submission of the eligibility envelope has been retained on April 1 while the deadline for submission of the two other envelopes was moved to May 31.

PPUC stated that they are continuously receiving request for information from IPPs. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
