The Palau Public Utilities Corporation (PPUC) staff members and employees unveiled their 2018 Summer Work Experience Program to Palau High School (PHS) students on Wednesday, May 16.

The program is the first of its kind hosted by PPUC which targets high school students currently in their sophomore and junior year, albeit in their junior and senior year at the start of SY 2018 – 2019.

The program is an eight-week paid internship which requires students to be in good academic standing as well as willing to compose quality essays as slots are limited.

A select few staff and employees of PPUC imparted words of hard work and dedication to students in attendance, highlighting the importance of their current schoolwork, getting through college and especially their duty to return and serve our home island in matters related to development of clean energy, to find new sources and production of clean water as well as innovative ways to manage wastewater.

Selected students will be assigned to their department of choice throughout PPUC and will be directly supervised by the department manager. (PR)
