President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. commends the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) and the Senate Judiciary and Government Affairs Committee for dispelling rumors and allegations on missing drug evidence from the Police Department in their recent Senate oversight hearing on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

President Remengesau Jr. further expressed commitment toward a stronger partnership with the Ministry of Justice and Vice President Raynold B. Oilouch to ensure continued accountability of all evidences under the Ministry’s custody.
The MOJ, through the creation of the Narcotics Enforcement Agency, has increased their efforts in reducing illegal drug trafficking and related activities in the Republic. It also provides rehabilitation services to persons suffering from drug and substance abuse as well and educates the public about the harmful effects of drugs.
President Remengesau had previously proposed a bill to the 10th Olbiil Kelulau on January 19 which seeks to tighten bail procedures and disrupt the trafficking of methamphetamine by persons awaiting formal court proceedings. (PR) [/restrict]
