June 1, 2016 (Koror) Staffs of various ministries of the national government, the Office of the President, Civic Action team, Koror State Solid Waste division and youth groups and community, members armed with trash bags, enjoyed an early morning “Walk & Pick” clean up event throughout different villages in Koror in celebration of the President’s Day.

Six (6) tons of trash were collected from all the neighborhoods in Koror and brought to the national solid waste site at M-dock.

Breakfast was served at Ernguul Park after the Walk & Pick and raffle prizes were given out.  President Tommy Remengesau Jr. applauded the participants for being good examples to the youth, for raising awareness of the environment and urged for more of the same events with greater participation and involvement from the community.

The day to honor all the Presidents that have served Palau was celebrated in a positive and productive exercise reflected by the smiles from all the participants. [/restrict]
