The correctional facility is on lockdown “until further notice” since March and there are no details of the lockdown provided by the officials as of now.

As per the previous Island Times report, the decision to lockdown the facility came after inmate Silvester Oiterong was allegedly attacked by two fellow inmates Kenneth Roman and Hamilton Kenzio on March 5.

After continuous media queries, the details of the lockdown including the rights of the inmates in such situations are not known.

The lockdown includes no visitation for the inmates in the correctional facility.

The Director of the Bureau of Public Safety Aloysius Alonz has not responded to any queries about the prison facility.

However, Chief of Staff of the Vice President has assured a meeting with the Director where different media queries can be resolved. (By Eshan Kalyanikar)
