July 27, 2016 (Koror) President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. signed a Presidential Proclamation No. 16-183 to honor former Delegate Hideo Termeteet and ordered all Palau flags to fly at half-mast in honor his passing.
According to the proclamation, former Delegate Hideo Termeteet served the people of Ngiwal State as their Delegate to the national congress for 12 years with distinction and honor.

Prior to serving as a Delegate for his home State, he served as their delegate to the First Constitutional Convention. After the Constitutional Convention, he was elected Delegate of Ngiwal State to the First Olbiil Era Kelulau.
Former Delegate Hideo Termeteet graduated with Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from California State University in Sacramento in 1979. Returning home from school, he served as Coordinator for Comprehensive Employment Training Act (CETA) and became specialist for the Trust Territory Manpower Council before going into politics.
Mr. Termeteet also held the chiefly title of “Ngirachelid ra Okelang” of Ngerchemai hamlet until his passing.
He is survived by his wife Sabina Termeteet and sons, Ehrlich Ngirngemelas Termeteet, Eugene Ngiraklou Termeteet, Delano Blekebek Termeteet, Debeot David Termeteet and Olai Henry Termeteet. He is additionally survived by several brothers and sisters, and numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. [/restrict]
