President Tommy Remengesau, Jr. is set to deliver his State of the Republic Address (SORA) on April 17 at the Senate Chamber of the National Capitol in Ngerelmud, Palau.
“The State of the Republic Address provides a national forum for the President to reflect upon the progress and achievements of the past year and direct the attention of the Republic to its most important developmental, economic, and social goals,” House Joint resolution 10-26-6S which was adopted by the OEK reads.
Palau’s Constitution requires the President to make annual report on the progress of his administration through the SORA.
The annual SORA which is typically addressed before a joint session of the Congress, gives the president opportunity to encourage Congress and the public to support his policies. (Rhealyn C. Pojas/Reporter)
