June 15, 2017 (Koror, Palau) President Remengesau is departing Palau on June 16, 2017 to Honolulu, Hawaii to join the Hōkūleʻa’s Homecoming celebration.

The Hōkūleʻa returns to Hawaii on June 17th after voyaging around the Earth. President Remengesau will also participate in a three-day summit to discuss mālama honua stories of hope inspired by the Worldwide Voyage and develop sail plans for the future of the planet.
Invited by Nainoa Thompson, President of the Polynesian Voyaging society, President Remengesau will address the summit as one of the Inspirational Speakers at the event.
President Remengesau will have the opportunity to meet with Palauans in Oahu, Hawaii at the Ala Moana Hotel on Friday, June 16. He returns to Palau on June 21.
