Being something affects your environment. Like salt, it’s all about being present. This is why it’s important to be your true you -that inner child you were born with. Your false self is the people pleaser, the actor. True self preserves and flavors and is always there for you. The actor needs a paycheck to perform.
Salt is made up of two elements- sodium and chloride. Neither element occurs separately and free in nature, but are found bound together as the compound sodium chloride. The beauty of salt is they are silent, however, their presence impact lives. The sound of silence affects and influences its contacts. They preserve, enhance as well as keeping bacteria at bay.
You are the salt of the earth (Matthew 5:13)
Environment is part of our growth as human beings as much as our nature. Like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are needed in gardening and farming to support the seed sprout and grow and to bear fruits (and vegetables). Every gardener knows that. We are constantly contaminated by non-organic human activities. We need help. JESUS is the gardener of the soul. Gardener prepares the soil before he plants the seeds. They cultivate the land, fertilize, and prune the plants to grow more abd produce flowers and fruits. (John 15)
Thunderstorms produce nitrogen that fertilizes the earth to help crops grow, phosphorus like tough love nurtures the roots to grow to produce flowers and fruits that provide Potassium. Amazing! To put it simply, we need storms that produces nitrogen, human wastes el remuul a phosphorus. The more you think about it – running away from pain and suffering deprive your soul from growing essential elements in order to produce fruits and flowers.
Moreover, we are to be the light that shines. Our good deeds like lights shine. Love and kindness. Be present and do good — salty and shiny.
Something to think about: Did you know the first sign of life on earth, astronauts see from space is Las Vegas. Kinda scary!
