On April 29, 2021, over 20 fifth grade students from Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Elementary School visited Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) for a presentation and a tour of the Palau Aquarium. During their visit, the students learned about coral reefs through presentations, videos and the hands-on activities provided by the Outreach Team and the high school interns.
The objective of the visit was to introduce to the students to the different marine ecosystem including, coral reefs, and coral bleaching. The students enjoyed the demonstration of coral bleaching as well as exploring the aquarium exhibitions.
PICRC welcomes children of all ages to visit the Palau Aquarium. This activity was part of the newly developed school program curriculum, which seeks to engage students in marine science. For more information contact PICRC at 488-6950, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Reservations should be done with 3 weeks in advance to allow PICRC’s outreach staff to prepare activities specifically designed for the group.
