On January 11, 2021, the Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) welcomed Palau High School (PHS) students Syerabe Humio, Ivan Kubarii, Kesiil Thomas, Sarina Masaichi, Aalliyah Miller, and Lwaylynn Feliciano, who will be completing their Career Practicum at the Center.

The Career Practicum is a Work-Based Activity program offered to all seniors at PHS. By partnering with numerous organizations across Palau, the program intends to expose students to the working environment, while orienting their career of choice.

All six students will be working at PICRC until April 30, 2021, and will be working hand-in-hand with an assigned mentor from the aquarium, research and administration areas. Likewise, the students will get the opportunity to learn more about PICRC’s conservation efforts and experience the day-to-day work carried out at the Center.
