PALAU — “Small businesses play a critical role in economic esilience and community well-being,” said Eustoria Borja, newly appointed director of the Palau Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The Pacific Islands Small Business Development Center Network (PISBDCN) named Borja as Palau SBDC director effective July 14, 2025. Borja brings a background in business development, project coordination, and journalism to her new leadership role.
“With Eustoria joining our team, the Palau SBDC is poised to enhance our services for local entrepreneurs,” said Frederick Granillo, PISBDCN Network Director. “Her expertise in Journalism and Business Development will strengthen our impact, ensuring that Palauan businesses have access to critical resources, guidance, and opportunities to thrive in today’s economy.”
Borja will oversee business counseling, training workshops, and outreach programs aimed at supporting small businesses and driving economic growth in Palau. She said the role has been “intellectually stimulating and deeply meaningful,” emphasizing the importance of applying “locally informed, research-based strategies” to support entrepreneurs.
“For all of us doing this work, it’s about being that bridge — connecting small business owners to the knowledge, resources, and networks they need to turn ideas into sustainable ventures, and strengthening the broader economic landscape along the way,” Borja added.
The hiring underscores PISBDCN’s continued effort to boost entrepreneurship across the Pacific Islands—including Guam, the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, and the Marshall Islands—by providing tailored assistance to small business owners.
