The National Emergency Management Office (NEMO) announced yesterday that it had lifted off the Small Craft Warning in Palau ‘except’ in the state of Angaur as water conditions there and in areas outside the reef is “still relatively rough.”
NEMO ‘strictly’ prohibits travel to the state or areas outside the reef for safety concerns, and even requests that all sea bound boaters take all precautionary measures and observe all marine safety regulations.
“Although weather conditions have somewhat improved, there is still possibility that water conditions in these areas may change and therefore, the Small Craft Advisory has been raised,” the NEMO’s advisory reads.
NEMO also urged the public to refrain from traveling by boat to any destinations where water conditions are too rough.
