Palau’s Community drive supports children in need
Koror, Palau –Let no child go hungry this Christmas. This is the focus of the Palau Behavioral Health Advisory Council and the Division of Behavioral Health’s Year-End Drive yesterday at the Palau Community College (PCC) Parking Lot.
“That’s what the drive is for,” said Everlynn Temengil. “We are going to start the twelve days of Christmas tomorrow, so this is the launching of the 12 Days of Christmas Giving. The shirts they’re wearing right now say, ‘Believe, love is giving,’ because that’s what God taught us. It’s a community that is supportive of one another.”

The event drew a generous turnout from community members eager to help children and families in need. While the drive officially concluded at 3:00 p.m., donors can still contribute to the cause.
Residents who missed the event are encouraged to continue decluttering their homes and donating pantry items, gently used clothing, and kids’ supplies. Donations will remain open to benefit needy children during this holiday season.
Elenita Brel, expressed gratitude for the community’s overwhelming support and emphasized the importance of extending the spirit of giving beyond the event. “Every contribution makes a meaningful difference for families in need,” she shared.
Those wishing to donate can contact Theresa Skang at 775-5877 for further details on drop-off locations and accepted items. The council hopes to collect additional supplies to ensure that no family is left without support during this festive season.
Let’s continue spreading the joy of the holidays by giving back to those who need it most. For more information, reach out to the Palau Behavioral Health Advisory Council. (By: Eustoria Marie Borja)
