Koror, Palau – Palau Conservation Society (PCS) ended 2021 on a high note with a donation from one of its longtime supporters. On December 29, 2021, PCS received a donation of $5,000 from Surangel & Sons Company.
PCS Executive Director Ms. Michelle Ngirutang and Finance Officer Ms. Dilngerii “DI” Maech met with Mr. Surangel Whipps Sr. and company CIO/EVP Mr. Eric Whipps to receive the donation. Ms. Ngirutang expressed PCS’s deep appreciation for the family’s years of commitment in supporting the organization and recognizing the conservation work and achievements in sustainable development in alignment with maintaining healthy communities and ecosystems for Palau.
Surangel and Sons Co. is one of PCS’s major donors and longtime Corporate Partner for Conservation (CPC). The family-owned business has contributed to conservation work in Palau for over 25 years.
In 2018, Surangel and Sons Supercenter became an environmental leader within Palau’s business sector by incorporating environmental ethics into their business practices. As a testament to these ethics, the Supercenter began their “No Plastic Bag Sunday” policy, which has since become a familiar practice among the community. Aside from their reduction on plastic use, the Supercenter offers a wide array of biodegradable, environmentally friendly products at affordable prices.
The PCS Board of Directors and staff are grateful to Surangel and Sons Co. for their continued dedication to environmental conservation! Any company or individuals interested in making a donation to PCS are encouraged to contact Ms. Michelle Ngirutang at 488-3993/4716, or via email at mngirutang@palauconservation.org.
