Ambassador Wallace Chow of the Republic of China (Taiwan) presented one special grant check of 500,000 US dollars designated for Palau’s Covid-19 vaccination operation plan to President Surangel Whipps, Jr., on February 10, 2021.
The grant will be allocated for storage, logistical set up, training, promotional items, educational materials, transportation and other items that are related to the said plan. With this special grant, Taiwan hopes it will help its brotherly ally-Palau reach the target goal of at least 80% of the population vaccinated as soon as possible.
On the previous day, the Embassy also handed over 6,000 antigen rapid test kits to MOH, which were donated by a New Taipei City-headquartered equipment producer TaiDoc Technology Corp. and Fora Care Foundation to Taiwan’s diplomatic allies and like-minded countries. It’s an action of Taiwanese public-private collaboration that shows “Taiwan Can Help and Taiwan is helping”. Taiwan will always do its best to support Palau and look after the health benefits of its Palauan brothers and sisters.
