Ambassador Wallace Chow of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) delivered a check of $2,000 to Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC) for the 2022 Arts & Tides Calendar contest on September 2, 2021. In attendance were Palau National Marine Sanctuary (PNMS) Director King Sam, PICRC Development Policy Coordinator Andrea Uchel, and Communications & Outreach Coordinator Singe Hideos.

PICRC holds Arts & Tides Calendar contest every year, and the theme for the upcoming contest is “The Future of Our Ocean is in Our Hands.” The theme is chosen to remind the general public that the impact from human activities on our ocean, to urge people taking actions to save marine ecology, and to inspire our youth into becoming advocates to protect our oceans. The Embassy agrees the contest’s vision, and hopes such donation will encourage more people to value marine ecology and conservation.
