Ambassador Wallace M.G. Chow, on July 26, sponsored $1,500 to support Konqer game to be held from November 30 to December 1.

Konqer is one of the new attractions in Palau that lures international tourists.

According to Palau Visitors Authority (PVA), Konqer is designed to target adventure and sports enthusiasts in Guam, United States, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Singapore and Taiwan. It was first held in 2017 and has been promoted through digital marketing by way of social media platforms and international trade shows.

Ambassador Chow said Taiwan government has been very supportive to Palau’s economic development, especially in tourism industry.

Last year, Taiwan and Palau mission in European Union joined the International Travel and Tourism Industry Exhibition in Brussels together. This year, China Airlines increased from 2 flights to 4 flights a week to Palau. From the statistics shown, there is an obvious increase of Taiwan tourists visiting Palau this year.

Taiwan Embassy not only financially sponsored Konqer, but also physically supported it. Taiwan Embassy is the only member from the diplomatic corps participating in the Konqer obstacle courses last year led by Ambassador Chow. It will continue to participate in the game this year. Ambassador Chow hopes other members from the diplomatic corps can also join Konqer, support this significant event and have fun. (PR)
