Foreign Minister Joseph Wu signs the condolence book

Republic of China (Taiwan) Foreign Minister Joseph Wu visited the Palau Embassy in Taipei on November 5 to pay respect to the late President Kuniwo Nakamura and sign the condolence book.  Palau Ambassador to Taiwan Dilmei Olkeriil received Minister Wu and thanked him for this thoughtful gesture before late President Nakamura’s funeral on November 6.

Palau entered diplomatic relations with Taiwan in December 1999 when late President Nakamura was the incumbent President.  After 21 years, his name is still widely known to the public in Taiwan.  As the news of his passing reached Taiwan last month, many Taiwanese also mourned the loss of late President Nakamura, who had been ever supportive to the two countries’ friendship.
