KOROR, Palau — A public art exhibition showcasing works by five visiting Taiwanese artists and students from Maris Stella Elementary School is on display this week at the Palasia Hotel. Admission is free.

The exhibition features pieces by renowned Taiwanese artists Chou Chen, Hsieh Kuei Feng, Tung Yung Nan, and Lin Hsiu Luan, as well as colorful works created by nearly 60 local students during a recent art workshop.

Organized by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in partnership with the Belau National Museum and sponsored by Palasia Hotel, the exhibit highlights artistic talent from Taiwan while encouraging youth participation in the arts.

The visiting artists arrived in Palau on Feb. 24 and participated in a series of cultural exchanges with Palauan artists. Facilitated by the Belau National Museum, these sessions included collaborative art practices and discussions intended to deepen mutual understanding of techniques and cultural perspectives.

During their stay, the artists also visited the island of Kayangel for creative inspiration and led educational workshops at Maris Stella Elementary School. Students were introduced to color theory, acrylic painting, and traditional calligraphy. Their resulting artwork is included in the exhibition.

The event coincides with Youth Day celebrations on March 15 and is aimed at encouraging young people, families, and community members to engage with the arts. Organizers hope the exhibition will inspire future interest in creative careers.

Officials from the embassy, museum, and hotel described the exhibition as a symbol of cultural cooperation and friendship between Palau and Taiwan, and encouraged the public to take part in the weeklong event. (Source: PR)
