Taiwan’s Council of the Indigenous Peoples (CIP) will be hosting the Austronesian Forum-Executive Council Meeting and GCTF-Austronesian Languages Revitalization Forum on September 29 to October 2 at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center in Palau.
Over 30 Very Important Persons (VIPs) are expected to attend the meeting while around 30 guests will also be expected to join the forum. A state banquet will then be conducted on September 30 for all the VIPs and other guests to attend.
The event is said to be part of the activities hosted by the CIP to celebrate Palau’s 25th year of Independence which is officially celebrated by the country every October 1.
Several topics on Austronesians and indigenous languages will be discussed during the meeting on September 30 with respective speakers from the Australian National University, Taiwan’s Academia Sinica, and Palau. (Rhealyn C. Pojas)
