Port Villa, Vanuatu, December 14th 207- Palau Beach volleyball team played their last match against Cook Island. Palau came out strong in the first set to take the win but Cook Islands fought so hard to take the second set and was able to secure the third set to take the win from Palau by few points. As a result of this game Palau was not able to make it to the playoffs. This was the first competition in the Pacific Mini Games for Men’s volleyball team and it is not going to be the last. They will continue to train and gain more knowledge and experience as they prepare themselves for the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa said Coach Sakiusa Naivana.

Archery

Palau Archery Team played today on a matchplay as per their ranking on the first day of the competition. Edward Kenic was the highest ranking of the team with 210 points, 10th out of 13th overall. Christopher Ongrung was the second highest with 160 points, 12th out of 13th overall and Brando  Giramur with 119 points, 13th out of 13th overall. On the 1/8 round single elimination our team was not able to secure their spot in the 1/4 round. While  Brandon Giramur came up close by came up in a draw with Luc Christy from New Caledonia as they both went to a shootout match but fell short at the end. This is also a first competition outside of palau for Palau Archery Federation. They are still developing and gaining more knowledge of the sport and they are also inviting people to join them and participate events like this and reprsent Palau said Brandon Giramur.

Closing ceremony will be held on friday December 15th 2017 at the  Korman Stadium at 5:00pm Vanuatu time and 3:00pm Palau time. It will streamed live on games website at www.van2017.com.

Team Palau will depart on Sunday December 17th 2017 and make their way back home just in time for the Christmas Holiday. [/restrict]
