Six Filipina’s took center stage and dazzled the crowd during the Filipino Community in Palau (TFCP) Beauty Pageant that celebrated TFCP’s 20th Anniversary in Palau on Saturday August 15th at the Riptide Bar and Grill.
The beauty pageant is a drawn-out event with various criteria with final decision to be made in September.
Last weekend showcased different outfit categories and talent show. For example, the tropical island wear category, each lady donned on floral clothing that complimented their body shape and accentuated their beauty.
For sportswear category, each lady had their own distinct look. One was dressed as surfer with a surfboard in hand, another was dressed as a baseball player, and one was dressed up as a cyclist.
For the talent show, each girl showcased different types of dancing. One was accompanied by her companions and they danced to a popular Korean Song, while another gave a powerful performance through interpretative dance, and then there was one that did a pacific inspired dance.
After the talent portion, boxes were placed in front of the contestants and the audience had the chance to choose who they thought performed well during the 1st part of the beauty pageant.
The audience impact, the contestants stage presence, beauty, ticket sells, and judges critique are factors to deciding a winner.
There is also a popularity contest that is still on-going and that too will factor into picking the winner as well.
The 2nd part of the pageant will take place in Sea Passion Hotel on September 5th and the winner will be crowned.

Tickets can be purchased from any officer from the Filipino Community in Palau. It will be $10 per ticket and comes with free dinner.
In his remarks, President of the Filipino Community in Palau Ariel Dela Cruz said that “we are blessed to have very beautiful candidates and we will make this a fair and memorable event.”
