The Blue Economy Project, implemented by the Bureau of Fisheries (BOF) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has launched a questionnaire and log-sheet survey on the reef fishing with the participation of fishermen in Koror. The survey aims to collect basic data for long-term estimation of total catch and fishing effort in the reef fishing for sustainable fisheries. This data collection will also contribute to ecosystem conservation, economic stability, food security, climate change monitoring, scientific research, and informed policy making, in the context of the blue economy or blue prosperity.
