As the first assistance from Japan for COVID-19 prevention and control, on 28th March, Sterilizing Alcohol Gel (1000 bottles) and Foam Hand Soap (1000 bottles) arrived at Palau International Airport, provided by Pan Pacific International Holdings (PPIH) using a JAL flight.
And now, as the second assistance from Japan, some Japanese companies are voluntarily preparing to donate disinfectants (the product is sold as ‘Corona Killer’ in Japan) for residents in Palau due to its shortage of sanitary supplies under the threat of COVID-19. Mr. Fuji, working for Koror State Government, is a proposer of this assistance and several Japanese companies decided to cooperate with him for COVID-19 prevention and control in Palau.
The vessel with sanitary liquid concentrate and spray bottles will be departing from Japan in the middle of April and arriving in Palau in the end of April. This sanitary liquid concentrate is 100 times denser than the normal sanitizers, hence, Mr. Fuji and the people assisting him will dilute the liquid concentrate with water to make the density normal. The total volume of ten tons of disinfectants will be distributed to each household in all the states of Palau, beginning in Koror. This volume of disinfectants is deemed to be sufficient for all residents in Palau.
The diluted disinfectant is extremely effective on sanitization. The Embassy of Japan hopes this assistance will contribute to the safety and health of the residents in Palau.
