“Be kind to everyone because everyone is fighting in some sort of a battle.” -Unknown

C.S. Lewis, wrote to an unloved woman, “Be patient. God is working in silence and remember that all things work together for good to  those who love the Lord and are called by God.

The story of the unloved woman is one of profound complexity, a tapestry woven of pain, longing, and yearning to be seen, yet there is a deeper truth that speaks to God’s unwavering presence.

The Silence of others can feel deafening, the absence of affection can feel like a void top vast to fill  But what if I told you that in this very

silence is the very void God is speaking the loudest. What if I told you that her struggles are not  punishment but preparation for something greater. What if it means to be unloved is not simply to be without affection. It is to feel unseen and unheard and unvalued. It is to question one’s worth in the absence of affirmation from others and yet in the economy of God our worth is not determined by human validation.  That it’s beyond the surface. He looks Into the Heart, the soul. The world may overlook but God notices.

Leah was the unloved woman. Jacob loved Rachel.  Rachel died  giving birth to Benjamin and was buried on their way to Bethlehem.

When Leah died Jacob honored her and buried her in the Cave of Machpelah next to his parents Isaac and Rebecca and his grandparents Abraham and Sarah. Jacob was buried next to Leah.

Leah was the mother of six of Jacob’s sons: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, and Judah; Judah was the ancestor of King David and, according to the New Testament, of Jesus.
