Koror, Palau – Taiwan embassy organized the first Taiwan-Palau Trade and Cultural Show. While this is the 3rd consecutive year Taiwan embassy has been hosting trade shows, culture and arts were added to the exhibitions this year in celebration of Palau and Taiwan’s 25th year of diplomatic ties.
This 3 days of exhibition is taking place at Ngara chamayong Cultural Center from August 19-21 from 10am – 6pm.

In an interview with Island Times, Third Secretary Lo said that Taiwan had previously organized trade shows, but this year in celebration of the 25th diplomatic relations anniversary, a highlight of Taiwan’s culture was added creating the first-ever Trade and cultural show.
About 30 Taiwanese companies are participating in this trade exhibition. This is a great increase from the 6 companies who partook in last year’s trade show. A 30-member delegation representing different companies traveled to Palau in batches to attend this exhibition. Out of the total 30 companies present, other companies had more representatives while others had none. However, “the purpose of this trade exhibition is to build networks and do match-making between Taiwanese and Palauan companies for possible business,” said Lo.
The companies present ranged from bicycle companies, health food & skin care products, even liquor and scuba diving gears. 7 local businesses and individual entrepreneurs joined the trade exhibition.
20 artists and 10 assistants made up the delegation for the cultural show. They displayed their paintings with different themes. They collectively brought 40 paintings with them. 8 local artists joined the exhibition through the help of Belau National Museum.
Taiwan embassy also brought 2 gourmet chefs from Taiwan to promote Taiwanese food through demonstrations at this event.
“This event is more than just a showcase of goods, it’s a platform for exchange, collaboration and growth,” said Taiwan’s ambassador during yesterday’s opening ceremony.
Both the trade and cultural exhibitions of this trade and cultural show are happening concurrently. The public is invited to this event.
