Uchel Tmetuch, a local businessman, received his appointment as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Poland in Palau, yesterday by Charge d’ Affairs Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Manila, Philippines.

In a brief ceremony, the Charge d’ Affairs Jaroslaw Szczepankiewicz presented Tmetuchl with his appointment saying he looks forward to a closer working closely with the new honorary consul.

Normally, he said that their Embassy in Australia oversees the Pacific including Micronesia.  He said Mr. Tmetuchl is the first honorary consul to be appointed from the Pacific island countries, not including New Zealand and Australia.

The office of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Poland is located on the second floor of the PDC Building next to the Asian Development Bank office. (Island Times)
