My dear Lord Jesus, I come to you now to be restored in you, renewed in you, to receive from you all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day. I honor as my Sovereign and I surrender every aspect and dimension of my life totally and completely to you.  I give to you my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind and will.  I ask your Holy Spirit to restore me in you, renew me in you and lead this time with you. You are worthy to receive all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my trust and all the glory of my life.

God, I need you to strengthen me to forgive like how you forgave Peter for denying you three times just hours after he swore he’ll never leave you.  We are so much like Peter,  if we’re honest.  But also in Peter, you saw his passion and zeal to go out there and share the good news so you restored him to you. Do the same with us.  We need you to correct our thinking to be loving and kind in our thoughts … your know our feelings follow our thoughts and that behavior is not far behind.  Give me self-control to use that space between a stimulus and a response.  Enlarge the capacity of my heart to be patient and wait.  Let me know Father God when I need to walk away when I’m being misunderstood because I am different.  Please interfere when I’m about to put my foot in my mouth like Peter.  Bless me LORD with tons of peace and reassurance that I’m safe in your everlasting arms.  Let your peace oozes out of my heart and life to bless those restless souls around me.

Jesus, I am amazed at how you work in our lives.  How you restore broken heart little by little… the thousand pieces you patiently put together.  Thank you for leading me to those places of my brokenness and name them.  I know it’s in the naming of my pain that makes them real so you can heal each part and put me together as you want.   Because most of my brokenness is unconscious that has been lodged in that young heart of mine for many years, I need you to help me.   I need your help God to name them and bring them to the surface to lose their power on my soul.  It’s quite amazing how you work in our life.  Most of the pain are the same – rejection, abandonment, betrayal… but each of us carry them as unique as our thumb print.  I remember someone who said to me, “Like a 50 pounds sack of Rice.  One can carry it at one time to cross the bridge to the other side.  Some will carry a pound at the time.  Some a cup.  So we don’t judge those who are different … who do not look like us, especially our children.

It’s all about you Jesus… your unforced rhythm of grace is beyond words.  We are loved by You!
