The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to provide the public with the following updates on testing and quarantine of individuals in Palau:
• Four (4) medical referral patients, escorts, and returning residents arrived on January 22, 2021 from Taiwan, and currently in mandatory quarantine for five (5) days. They were tested negative three (3) days prior to departure and again on day 1 after arrival in Palau; all results were negative. They will undergo further testing on days 5 and 14.
• Twelve (12) military personnel also arrived on January 22, 2021. They were tested negative twice, ten (10) and three (3) days prior to arrival, and have been placed under a 14-day mandatory quarantine in a government-designated facility. They will undergo testing on days 7, 14, and 21.
• Eighteen (18) military personnel, including the new Civic Action Team, arrived on January 23, 2021. They were also tested negative twice, ten (10) and three (3) days prior to arrival, and have been placed under a 14-day mandatory quarantine. They will undergo testing on days 7, 14, and 21.
