Applications for 3 types of Japanese government scholarships annually offered in Palau through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) are now available at the Embassy of Japan.

These scholarships are offered for research (postgraduate), undergraduate and specialized training college programs.

Palauan students who are born after 2nd of April, 1995 are eligible to apply for the undergraduate and specialized training college scholarship programs. Those who will graduate from high school by March 2020 are also eligible to apply.

The specialized training college program is a three 3 year study program while the undergraduate program is for 5. Both programs include a one-year Japanese language study.

The research (postgraduate) program funds for education in Japan at the master’s degree level and requires an applicant to have completed their 4 years of University level education or to complete it by March 2020. Applicants for this program must be born after 2nd of April, 1985.

All three programs are full scholarship programs covering airfare, tuition and monthly stipends.
