Ministry of Finance in partnership with Asian Development Bank (ADB) is hosting the 2021 Economic Symposium this Thursday, November 18th, at Ngarachamayong Cultural Center.

Themed “Forging New Pathways”, the symposium is expected to “raise awareness and build consensus for reform measures.”   The topics focus on “realizing more from tourism, agriculture, and aquaculture, strengthening fiscal responsibilities and establishing national and state planning,” according to the released program of the event.

Keynote speaker, Keving O’Keef from Graduate School USA, will talk about “Alternative Development Paths and Fiscal Implications.”

Other topics to be covered include “Options for Building Resilience”, “Mapping Sustainable Recovery”, and “Holistic Approach to Resolving Unfunded Liability” – which looks at retirement system reform for Social Security and Civil Service Pension Plan Fund.
