The 2nd presidential debate has been confirmed for June 11, 2020 ahead of the September primary for the four candidates running for the Office of the President, Johnson Toribiong, Alan Seid, Raynold Oilouch and Surangel Whipps Jr.

The event will be held at the Palau Community College and is expected to run for 3 and half hours with breaks in between.

Palau is in the midst of the pandemic that has crippled the world economies, isolate Palau from the world, and impact an industry that contributes to nearly half of Palau’s GDP.  Palau is expected to face serious challenges in the coming four years and it is important that people get to know what these four candidates who plan to lead Palau in the next four years.

The event will provide an opportunity to hear specific points of view, positions and ideas that each candidate has, to lead us into the new post-covid world.

Questions are being solicited from wide group of people and condensed to issues of substance that the candidates can address during the debate.

This 2nd presidential debate is organized by the Palau Media Council, consisting of print, television, radio and internet media.  The first presidential debate was organized by Palau Community College earlier this year.
