2nd Tranche of 2016 Annual Assistance and 2016 SIS Special Leaders’ meeting assistance funding provided by the ROC government handed over to Palau”

ROC (Taiwan) Ambassador Michael Tseng to the Republic of Palau (ROP) presented two checks amounting to nine hundred thousand US dollars to Hon. Elbuchel Sadang, Minister of Finance on August 2^nd.

The check with an amount of seven hundred thousand US dollars is for second tranche of 2016; the other check with two hundred thousand US dollars is for 2016 SIS Special Meeting assistance to the ROP national government.

Ambassador Michael Tseng, who just arrived in Palau to assume the post last Saturday, emphasizes that the people and government of Taiwan cherish the cordial relationship with the people and government of Palau. One of the major reasons is that our two countries share the same values of democracy, freedom, rule of law and human rights, which form a solid foundation for our strong friendship. Ambassador Tseng said that during his tenure here in Palau, he would do his best to further strengthen the relations between Palau and Taiwan.[/restrict]
