May 26, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Announcements of three hundred fifty job opportunities available in the national government, semi-autonomous agencies, State governments and private sector took almost an hour for the radio announcer to complete.
Vacancies include fifty-three (53) openings in all the national government ministries. Thirty-six (36) job openings are available in government semi-autonomous agencies and other entities such as the 11 positions available at the Palau Community College. Twelve (12) job vacancies are available at various State governments as well as other agencies such as PVA, PCAA, Judiciary, OEK and others.
These do not include openings for job trainings with Civic Action Team under PCAA job training project or the WIA summer job programs.
A total 261 job openings are available in the private sector, including 82 for carpenters, over 40 in various management and clerical positions, 38 tour guides, waitresses, secretaries and others.
Positions available in both public and private sector include front desk clerks, heavy equipment operators, ITs, teachers, nurses, college instructors, tour guides, guest services, masseuse, chefs, waitresses, carpenters, electricians, farmers and more.
These also do not include job vacancies in the two largest national public utilities corporations, PNCC and PPUC.
The lowest rate offered is $3.50 per hour for basic labor and the highest is $36,000 per annum. Most of the job opening announcements have been running since 2015 due to lack of available applicants to fill some of the positions requested. [/restrict]
