President Surangel Whipps Jr. requests additional appropriations of $354,000 from the national congress (OEK) to fund Palau Election Commission and assist Guam in its recovery from Typhoon Mawar.

With the untimely passing of the late Senator Jonathan “Cio” Isechal, by law, Palau Election Commission has to conduct a special election to fill the vacancy in the Senate.  President Whipps is asking for $104,000 to supplement the Election Commission’s budget for the special election.

In addition, $250,000 is being requested to assist Guam in its recovery effort from Typhoon Mawar.
