After nearly three years of construction, a new government building in Koror designed to streamline public services is set to open soon.
“All we are waiting for to complete the project is the furniture to furnish the building,” said Minister of Public Infrastructure Charles Obichang, updating on the facility’s readiness.
The purpose of the new center is to consolidate various government services under one roof, simplifying public access. According to President Surangel Whipps Jr., departments currently housed in Ngerbeched—including the Tax Office, Social Security Administration, Human Resources, and Immigration—will move to the new location.
“The goal is to make it easier for people to go and pay their bills and take care of business in one place,” Whipps added.
Still, with the new facility built for ease of business, the government seeks to expand online service access, such as accessing forms and making online payments for services.
