Seventy-five people, athletes, and coaches will be attending the upcoming Pacific Mini-Games 2022 to be held in Saipan from June 17-25.
According to the Palau National Olympic Committee report, Palau will be participating in 7 sports. The Chef de Mission is Alonz Moses of the Palau Team.
“It takes a lot of work to get there. People don’t understand how much dedication, how much commitment these athletes make to get there,” said President Surangel Whipps Jr., commending the athletes for their commitment to Palau.
At this Wednesday’s press conference, President Whipps introduced the representatives of Team Palau to the Pacific Mini Games and urged people to help in the fundraising events being held to help fund the athletes for the upcoming game.
Secretary-General of PNOC Baklai Temengil encouraged people to talk with athletes, to listen to them, and support them.
“Just talking to the athletes is important. And to recognize their contributions here in Palau and their preparation is very important to the athletes.,” said Baklai Temengil-Chilton.
Mrs. Baklai Temengil-Chilton, it was also reported, has been reelected the Vice President of the Oceania Olympics Committee.
