KOA MOANA Koror, Palau – Detachments of U.S. Marines and sailors from Marine Expeditionary Force will take part in security-cooperation training events with Palau as part of the KOA MOANA exercise.

KOA MOANA is designed to strengthen and enhance relationships between the United States and partner nations in the Indo-Pacific in an effort to promote regional security and sovereignty.

While in country the Marines will participate in celebrations of Palau’s Independence, including the parade in Koror on September 22, 2019, and the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Peleliu on September 28, 2019 in Peleliu that honors U.S. Marines and Palauans whose efforts led to Palau’s liberation and independence.

As part of KOA MOANA the Marines will be constructing a playground on the Island of Peleliu.
